| Bio: | Sports fan, writer, gamer, hellraiser, Goldwater conservative, and all-around goofball. I'm blunt, and I'm sometimes forceful and more than a little profane, but I don't expect to be agreed with all the time.
I don't drink (except in religious ritual) or take drugs, and I quit smoking the day the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup. I'm quite political--I believe in such unpatriotic things as freedom of speech, freedom of choice, freedom of (and from) religion, and so forth. You know, things outlined in that seditious and un-Amurican document known as The Constitution of the United States of America.
Most of this journal is friends-only. In fact, almost all of this journal is friends-only, for two reasons:
1) I vent a lot about my job and don't want to get fired because somebody who works for my employer stumbles across my rather unflattering commentary about the company--and yes, I do name names.
2) One word: CanuckTed.
WARNING: I talk about a lot of wierd-ass stuff, some of it very much of the TMI persuasion and most of it controversial in some way, shape, form, or fashion to any one group of people at any given time. I use lots of rather colorful language when the mood strikes me (which is often). I also talk a lot of hockey, but it's mostly fangirling with my friends--I save most of the serious hockey talk for my public hockey blog. Years of abuse have made me quick to jump on anyone that so much as looks crosseyed at any team south of the Mason-Dixon line (especially the Carolina Hurricanes), and I'm very protective of my town, my friends, and my kin.
Or, as a hockey blogger once put it:
"It's profane, scathing, and unyielding, but it's real and it's honest."
I'm not too keen on random friending, but if you know me from somewhere (and please do tell me where you know me from so I don't go "who the heck is this person?"), then the chances that I'll friend you back are decent. And if you're Darren McCarty, I want you at my house with a box of condoms and a tube or two of K-Y ASAP.
